The mission of Woonsocket Police Department “Copswalk” is to honor law enforcement officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty in the best way possible—by taking care of their families. To accomplish this, officers engage in a year-round effort to raise funds and resources that provide financial and emotional support to police survivors. The mission culminates on May 9th, when a team of sworn officers embarks on a 450-mile relay-style run/walk from Woonsocket, RI, to Washington, DC in conjunction with National Police Week. Through its efforts, Copswalk is dedicated to ensuring that the sacrifices made by our brave men and women in blue are never forgotten.

Each year, between 140 and 160 officers are killed in the line of duty and their families and co-workers are left to cope with the tragic loss. COPS provides resources to help them rebuild their shattered lives. There is no membership fee to join COPS, for the price paid is already too high.
